Apollo Missions: 17
Wt: 7.4 kg
Dim: 32.3 x 30.5 x 19.8 cm, stowed
The LEAM (NOT lean!) was a small instrument
carried on A 17 only. It was designed to detect particles which are ejected
during lunar impact events (ejecta), as well as micrometeorites from space.
The data from this instrument was not what was expected and the validity
of the measurements has been called into question.
