Apollo J Series Extravehicular Mobility Unit(EMU). The J Series missions, Apollos 15, 16, & 17 featured improved hardware and spacecraft which afforded a quantum leap in the ability of the crews to explore the moon over previous missions.

The extravehicular suit was made up of the intravehicular suit (worn inside the LM & CSM) with the addittion of a liquid cooling garment (LCG), the PLSS and PLSS RCU, special overboots and gloves, and a special helmet (LEVA) which featured the famous gold visor and devices for shading the eyes against the unfiltered sunlight.
