PLSS Tool Carrier Harness. The CDR wore his smaple bag on the left side and the LMP wore his on the right because of their seat positions on the Lunar Roving Vehicle (LRV) "moon car". If they'd worn them differently, their bags would have been bumping into eacj others'!

In the notes, NOTE 1 refers to the "quick disconnect lanyards" which were the odd looking straps mounted with velcro on either side of the LEVA helmet.
