This shows the exterior of the
hatch. The red object at center right is a cover over the EVA handle.
The image clearly shows the mylar tape pattern, and the location of the
decals and the purge and vent ports. Compare to diagrams below.

Top: Interior aspect of the Apollo 7 CM hatch. This had a fairly simple design. As with most other Apollo hardware, the design was improved upon as the program evolved.
The image on the right shows a white bracket drawn around a part that connects to the hatch tract and where it goes on the CM hatch frame.
