New Horizons
My favorite new unmanned spacecraft. I hope
to have a whole section relted to this subject up
on my web site before too much longer. In the meantime,
here's a few links to sites:
Real
Space Models (commercial and information sites)
-
+EVA
Models- My good buddy Chris, owner, operator and "Chief Designer"of
EVA Models has cooked up some really nice models of Apollo-type suits and
other space stuff. (Click here for a link to
a site where you can buy cheap glass domes in a variety of styles for the
EVA figures)
-
+Ninfinger
Productions: Scale Models - Sven "Ninfinger" Knudson's incredible space
site. I call it "the best little space site in Texas" but it's really the
best in the whole damn world! More information is available here
on space and space models than any other place on the Net. Includes pictures
of real space hardware and just about every space model that's ever been
made. Also, a HUGE links page. You have to see this place to believe it!
-
+RealSpace Models
- Glenn Johnson, probably the most famous space modeler on Earth, has had
his work featured in Fine Scale Modeler magazine several times. He also
runs a very nice resin kit company which specializes in beautifully detailed
models of rockets, space probes, and after production kits to jazz up and
super detail those re-released styrene kits! Nice!!
-
+Space
in Miniature - The Space In Miniature (SIM) series of books by Mike
Mackowski are a must have for any serious space modeler. Books are
in soft cover and very affordable.
-
+RixWiki
- By Rick DeNatale. "Everything you never knew you wanted to know
about the Mercury Project!"
-
+New Ware Models
- By Tomas Kladiva from the Czech Republic. Specializing in top quality
after-market detail sets including photo-etch and decals, as well as many,
many planned kits of boosters both real and those that never made it off
the drawing boards. (Hint: I get almost
all of my resin stuff either from Tom or from Glenn at Real Space Models)
Note
- New Ware Models can now be bought domestically at Victory
Models (see below), which should soothe the jitters some may have about
buying from overseas.
-
+Accurate
Models - "very simply, what the name implies. Moreover, it
also implies incredible detailing not usually found in the mass market
production kits from yester-year to today. A kind of reassurance that once
purchased, these kits will astound, educate, and thoroughly delight the
buyer." A division of Custom Miniatures, operated by Jim Key.
A++
